Foreign Tax Residency Updates
Living in the UK but still a tax resident in Greece? We update your tax residency with AADE so Greece treats you as a UK resident.
Moving to the UK does not change your Greek tax residency on its own. Until AADE approves the transfer, the Greek tax authority still treats you as a Greek tax resident, taxable in Greece on your worldwide income. We get your proof of UK tax residence from HMRC, gather the supporting documents, submit the application through myAADE and follow it through to the decision. We explain every step in Greek or English.

Frequently asked questions
When do I need to apply?
The application is due by the last working day of the first ten days of March in the year after you left Greece, and the supporting documents by the same point in September. AADE decides within two months of receiving the documents.
What proof of UK residence do I need?
HMRC issues a certificate of residence or a letter confirming you are UK tax resident, and we apply for it for you. AADE may also ask for proof of your UK address and work, such as a tenancy agreement and an employment contract.
Will I still pay tax in Greece?
Only on income that arises in Greece, such as rent from Greek property. A Greek tax return is still needed for years with Greek income, and the UK–Greece double taxation agreement helps you avoid paying tax twice on the same income.
